A crow was very thirsty. He flew here and there to find water.
He saw a pot with little water in it. The water was too low.
The crow dropped small stones into the pot.
The water came up and the crow drank happily.
The Lion and the Mouse
A lion was sleeping in the forest.
A mouse ran over him. The lion caught the mouse.
The mouse asked for mercy. The lion let him go.
One day, the mouse saved the lion from a net.
The Honest Woodcutter
A poor woodcutter was cutting wood near a river. His axe fell into the water.
He cried sadly. A fairy appeared and brought a golden axe.
The woodcutter said it was not his. Then she brought a silver axe.
Again, he refused. Finally, she brought his iron axe.
The fairy was pleased and rewarded him.
The Greedy Dog
A dog found a piece of meat. He was crossing a bridge.
He saw his reflection in the water and thought it was another dog.
He barked to get the other piece of meat.
His own meat fell into the water. He lost it.
The Clever Fox
A fox fell into a well.
He could not come out.
He tricked a goat to jump in.
The fox climbed out using the goat.
The Slow Tortoise and the Fast Hare
A hare laughed at a slow tortoise.
They decided to have a race.
The hare slept on the way.
The tortoise kept walking and won the race.
The Boy Who Cried Wolf
A boy looked after sheep.
He cried "Wolf! Wolf!" for fun.
People came but found no wolf.
One day, a real wolf came.
No one believed the boy.
The Golden Egg
A farmer had a hen.
The hen laid one golden egg every day.
The farmer became greedy.
He killed the hen and lost everything.
The Ant and the Dove
An ant fell into a river.
A dove dropped a leaf into the water.
The ant climbed on the leaf and was saved.
Later, the ant saved the dove from a hunter.
The Fox and the Grapes
A fox saw grapes hanging high.
He tried to jump and get them.
He could not reach the grapes.
He went away saying they were sour.
The Monkey and the Cap Seller
A cap seller slept under a tree.
Monkeys took his caps.
The seller threw his cap on the ground.
The monkeys copied him and returned the caps.
